Artist Karen Hudgin

Growing up in a small town, Huntsville Ontario in the heart of Muskoka, Karen developed her love of nature, animals, and creativity. Karen now has a studio located at Clearwater Lake, this location allows her and her husband the opportunity to photograph and enjoy wildlife.  Karen pursuit of wildlife and nature has taken her to most of the United States, Mexico, and the Caribbean.  Many of the reference photos Karen uses for her paintings are from these trips.  Karen loves wildlife of any kind and has rescued and helped many injured and sick animals.  Working with animals is this artist’s passion.

Karen is a member of the Colored Pencil Society of America, Washago Art Club, and the Delray Art League.

Karen has painted with many fine artists throughout North America allowing her to develop her own style, which is complete and accurate detail. This list of artists include; Terry Isaac, David Kitler, Derek Wicks, Shelly Prior, Moe Shier, Bob Pennycook, Willow Wolfe, Sherry Nelson and Anne Kulburg   In a 2015 seminar with Robert Bateman, he said “this artist definitely knows her stuff”.

Karen started displaying her art while wintering in Florida. In 2016 she placed first in a showing in Ocean Ridge Fl, second in a 2017 show in Delray Beach F and 3rd in the Delrat winter interlude exhibit 2018.. Her art has also been admired hanging along Muskoka street (paddles summer of 2016 and leafs of 2018), in the Washago community centre, and in the summer 2016 pop-up art shop in Washago.

Thank-you for considering Karen’s Art, all of her passion is translated into all her paintings.
